Harambee means pulling together and that’s exactly what it does. In Kenya, it’s more than just a word, it’s a way of life that unites people across diverse ethnic groups, backgrounds, and communities.
Whether it’s neighbour coming, together to help build a school, friends contributing, to support a family in need or a community fundraising for someone’s hospital bill or education. Harambee reminds us that we are stronger together.
It teaches us self reliance, unity and compassion. It shows that no matter where we come from, when we lift each other up, we all rise.
That spirit of unity is something i carry with me every day and something I’m truly proud of.
