Ebola awareness: Know the facts, protect your family!πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺπŸ™

With so much information going around, it’s important to know what’s accurate!

How Ebola spreads: Through direct contact with the blood or body fluids of a sick person,or with contaminated items like needles, and bedding. It’s not spread through air like the common cold or COVID 19.

Early symptoms: Sudden fever, severe headache, muscle pain, weakness, and sore throat. Symptoms can appear 2 to 21 days after exposure.

Protect yourself:

1.Β  Wash your hands with soap and clean water often.

2. Avoid contact with anyone who is visibly ill.

3. Don’t handle the bodies of people who have died suddenly without proper protective equipment.

4. Avoid bushmeat and unexplained animal deaths.

If you feel sick:

Go to the nearest health facility right away and tell staff about any recent travel or contact with sick people.

Trust the right sources:

Follow updates from the ministry of health Kenya and the WHO, not unverified forwards.

Share this with your family and community. Accurate information saves lives!πŸ™
