What’s a moment when a stranger completely restored your faith in people?
I was waiting at a bus stop the other day and watched a young rider get on, swipe their card, and hear that dreaded beep, insufficient funds. You could see the panic set in. They were clearly stranded, holding up the line, apologising over and over while digging through their pockets .
Before the driver could say anything,a stranger behind them just stepped forward, tapped their own card and said,”i got you. Go ahead”.
No lectures. No hesitation. No waiting for a thank you.
The person they helped was so relieved they almost didn’t know what to say. They just nodded and said thank you quietly as they found a seat.
It was a small fare. Maybe two dollars. But it was everything in that moment.

What’s the best local dish you’ve ever eaten while traveling?
Travel has taught me that the best way to understand a culture is through its food, the best local dish I’ve ever eaten while travelling has to be Mukimo.
If you haven’t tried it, Mikono is a traditional Kenyan dish made from potatoes smashed together with arrow root leaves, maize and beans. It’s hearty,earthy, and incredibly comforting.
What makes it so special is how simple, wholesome ingredients are transformed into something so flavourful and satisfying. It’s usually served with a hearty stew and is a perfect example of how local cuisine tells the story of a place and its people.
If you get the chance to visit central Kenya, do yourself a favor and try the authentic Mukimo. You won’t regret it.
One thing i wish school had actually taught more is justice and communism.
So much of what we learn in school focuses on dates and definitions, not enough on the systems that shape our lives.
Understanding different economics and social systems, what justice really means in practice, and how things like bribery and corruption can get in the way of fairness, that’s the kind of knowledge that helps you think critically about the world around you.
It’s never too late to keep learning and asking questions about how we can build a more just system for everyone.
